Current member reminder

An unsolicited invitation concerning a “QCWA Email Reflector” has been reported. President Anthony Perales, AI1U, does not recognize the invitation as an official QCWA platform. Treat it as unverified unless QCWA confirms otherwise through its established channels.

Initial reminder period: October 27, 2026 through November 25, 2026.

Our established reflector is QCWA Groups.io. Open a known QCWA link directly instead of following an unexpected invitation.

  • Pause: do not reply to a suspicious message, even to unsubscribe. Avoid its links and attachments.
  • Verify independently: a name, callsign, logo, or sender address can be copied. Use contact information from QCWA’s website or your existing records.
  • Protect your information: never share passwords, verification codes, or payment details in response to an unverified request.
  • Report: use your email provider’s spam/phishing tools and send QCWA a concern report. Preserve original evidence for follow-up, then block/delete the suspicious message.

If you already replied, stop the conversation. Replying alone does not establish account compromise. If you disclosed credentials, secure your account through the provider’s real website and contact its support team. If you sent money or financial details, contact your payment provider promptly.

Background: QCWA Bulletin 2023-003, Phishing Alert and Communication Updates, October 26, 2023. This is a historical bulletin; the current reporting route is the form linked here.

Thank you to Daryl Stout, NK5LA, QCWA VHF+ Net Manager, for sharing the reminder with the Facebook community.

Unexpected reflector invitations, urgent requests, or unfamiliar links? Verify through QCWA before responding.

Sharing a concern lets the webmaster review the context. It does not establish that the reported person or message is responsible for misconduct.
