QCWA’s 75/75 CONTEST

Celebrating our 75th Anniversary on December 5, 2022

This operating event is being held to commemorate the 75th anniversary of QCWA’s founding on December 5, 1947. During our 75 years of existence, almost 40,000 hams have been members.

THE CONTEST

Each QCWA member contacts a minimum of 75 QCWA members between December 5, 2022, and February 18, 2023, a period of 75 days.

Eligibility

The contest is open to all CURRENT members of QCWA. You do not have to be affiliated with a Chapter. If you would like to participate but are not a member, you must renew or join the organization before the contest begins on December 5, 2022. Officers and Directors of QCWA National may compete but are not eligible to win prizes.

Dates

The contest runs from 0000 UTC December 5, 2022 (7 PM EST December 4) for 75 days, ending at 0000 UTC February 18, 2023 (7 PM EST February 17).

Bands/Modes

Amateur bands allowed are 160m, 80m, 40m, 20m, 15m, 10m and 6m. Phone (SSB, AM, etc.) and CW contacts are allowed. No cross-band, cross-mode, repeater, or digital contacts are permitted. Phone contacts must be in the phone sub-bands.

Exchange

All contacts must be made between current QCWA members. Exchange is name and your unique QCWA number (available on the Members Only link at https://www.qcwa.org/members/login.php).

Logging

Electronic logs are preferable, although paper logs will be accepted. The attached Excel sheet should be used for logging.

All participants will be mailed a contest certificate from QCWA Headquarters. A special certificate will be prepared for those members completing 75 contacts.

Submissions

All logs, electronic or paper, must be received NLT March 10, 2023. All electronic logs should be submitted to the Secretary at secretary@qcwa.org. Paper logs may be mailed to 29 S. Canary Way, Galloway, NJ 08205-6280.

A full recap will be published in the May 2023 QCWA Journal.

The top three scorers will receive the following prizes:

#1 Upgrade to QCWA Life Membership

#2 QCWA Membership extended for five years

#3 QCWA Membership extended for three years
