Richard "Dick" Mellen Kramer, 92, of Stevensville passed away on September 21, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, September 26, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Road, Stevensville. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 2-4 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Stevensville or the Lakeshore Band Program.

Richard was born September 3, 1919 in Three Oaks, MI, the son of the late Mellen C. and Isabelle (Froebel) Kramer. On November 20, 1948, he married Dorothy Fiedler. Richard was an amateur ham radio operator (W8HAT), square dancer and an avid computer user. Dick could fix or build most anything. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and retired as a design engineer from Auto Specialties in 1983. Dick met mornings with his fellow members of the "Royal Order of Raccoons" at the Big Boy in Stevensville. He served as a Signal Corps officer in the US Army 1st Cavalry Division during WWII. He was on the Stevensville Village Council from 1972 - 1988 and served as its Zoning Administrator two years.

Survivors include his wife of over 62 years, Dorothy; children - Suzanne (Stephen) Jewell of Stevensville, Barbara (H. Talmage) Day of Alexandria, VA; Grandchildren - Joseph Jewell of Pasadena, CA, Elizabeth Jewell of Ann Arbor, MI; sister - Rosemary Heckathorn of FL; sister-in-law - Carmen Kramer of Three Oaks, MI and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was also preceded in death by two brothers - Paul and David Kramer.
