Rev. Dr. Lars Williamson was born in Cleveland Ohio on October 3rd, 1936.

He attended Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he met his future wife ViElla Porter, who he married in 1958. They moved to California around 1960, where Lars worked at ABC 7, and they both studied at Golden Gate Seminary in Mill Valley.

Lars later moved to KGO TV in San Francisco, where he worked as a technical engineer.

He joined the Navy Reserves during the Vietnam War.

He earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology while working the graveyard shift at KGO.
