Glenn Lester Allen, 90, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died April 26, 2011 at St. Luke.s Northland Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on June 22, 1920 in Burden, Kansas to Fred Marshall Allen and Jessie Irene Bynum Allen.

He served in U.S. Signal Corp during World War II in Pacific Theater. He moved to Bella Vista in July 1975 from Kansas City, Missouri. He was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church. He was a Charter Member of the VFW Post 9063, Masonic Lodge #56 in Bentonville, Arkansas; 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, Fort Smith; Scimiter Shrine Temple, Little Rock, AR; Charter Member Nomad Shrine Club of Bella Vista; member of National Association of Federal Employees in Bella Vista past member of Quarter Century Wireless Association and original member of Fly-tyers in Bella Vista for past 30 years. He helped start Bella Vista Crime Watch where he worked for past 25 years plus and helped start Bella Vista and Bentonville Amateur Radio Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Irene Kjellberg Allen of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two daughters, Cynthia J. Burns of Platte City, Missouri, Kathryn J. Hall of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Marjorie Weigers of Arlington, Washington, one sister-in-law, Donna Allen of Hutchinson, Kansas; five grandchildren Kelly Cowan, Tehra Pratt, Brian and Christopher Clark, Shauna Hall and six great-grandchildren, Carter and Ayden Pratt; Braydon, Haley and Carly Cowan and Connor Tingler.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Bella Vista Community Church 75 East Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas with Military Honors by the VFW Post 9063.
