GULFPORT --- David H. Wainwright, 79 and a resident of Gulfport, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, in Gulfport.Mr. Wainwright was a native of Louisville, Ky., and served as a radio repairman in the Army 283rd Field Artillery during World War II. He owned radio repair shop and was employed with Western Union. He retired from civil service after 30 years as an instructor supervisor at Keesler Air Force Base.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Lee McDonald Wainwright; his parents, Peter V. and Mildred Wainwright; a sister, Elizabeth Bratcher; and twin brothers, George and William Wainwright.Survivors include a son, Chris Wainwright; a daughter, Debbie Lonnborg; a sister, Frances Leary; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his caregivers, Tammy, Todd and Ciara Allen.Visitation will be at 10 a.m. today at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport, followed by the service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum in Gulfport.November 28, 2001 The Sun Herald
