Charles Derapelian, aged 86, passed away on January 8, 2012 after a long illness. Born in New York, he is survived by his wife Gloria; son Charles, Jr.; daughter Dorothy; and grand-daughter Karina. During W.W. II he was a radio operator in the Merchant Marines, and in 1948 was drafted in the U.S. Army where he served for two years. He worked for R.C.A. retiring in 1986 and then moved to Deltona. He was an amateur radio operator since age 17 with the call letters 'W5IW.' Arrangements by Baldauff Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Orange City, interment Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
