Beverley "Bev" Brooks Cavender, 72, of Lake Placid, had been a resident of Lake Placid since 1959, coming from West Palm Beach.

He was the founder and owner of the Cavender Corporation.

He was a member of the Lake Placid Elks Lodge 2661; Lake Placid Moose Lodge; Lake Placid Noon Rotary Club; the Sebring and Lake Placid board of Realtors, where he served as president; and a member of the American Radio Relay League (W4ZD). He was the first Realtor inducted into the Lake Placid Board of Realtors Hall of Fame and was past president of the Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Cavender-Becker; son, John Edward; two stepdaughters, Silvia Halpern and Marinela Williams; and six grandchildren.

Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid.
