Mr. James T. Schliestett, age 85, of Cedartown,GA, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Mr. Schliestett was born on April 22, 1924 in Polk County to his parents the late Hugh T. & Annie Sheley Schliestett. He was a retired Electrical Technician and a veteran, serving with the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown, a past member of the Cedartown Optimists Club and a past President & Founder of the Cedar Valley Radio Club.

He is survived by his Wife, Mrs. Esther B. Schliestett. His Son & Daughter in law, Jim & Linda Schliestett. His Grandchildren, James Schliestett, Jr. and Ivey & Chris Parker. His Great Granddaughter, Olivia Parker, a special Niece, Lori Campbell as well as other relatives & friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. James Teems Schliestett will be conducted on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Dr. David Taylor & the Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens with full military honors conducted by the Brewster - Cleveland Post 86 Honor Guard. Mr. Schliestett will Lie in State at the Litesey Funeral Home until the funeral hour. The Family will recieve Friends on Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home. The following Gentlemen have been asked to serve as Pallbearers; James Schliestett, Jr., Herbert Johnson, Chris Parker, Wayne Lott, Van Schliestett & Monty Montgomery. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
