WALTER L. BRINK, W3WPY, incumbent director and candidate for re-election to the office of director. First licensed In 1951 as W7PLT, and Advanced class since 1952. Other calls held were W3CHI, WOCUH and W3WPY since 1965. A Life member of OCWA, Charter member of Del-Mar-VA Chapter 150, and presently serving a second term as President.

I began a professional music career at age 15. playing Tuba and string Bass with Lawrence We1k, Stan Kenton. Blue Barron and Boyd Rayburn Orchestras. Performed as a Tuba soloist with many mid-west concert bands and symphonles and in 1965 joined the Washington Redskins Band as soloist and principal Tuba, until retirement in 1982.

After discharge from the Air Corps in 1945, I joined Chrysler Motor Corporation as a Parts and Service representative and became a member of a trouble shooting group known as "The Real Men". In 1965 I joined a 6 dealership automotive group serving as Director of Parts and Service, until retirement in 1982 when we nioved to the Easten Shore of Maryland.

I have taken an active part in the past six National OCWA Conventions and served as the assistant chairman of the 1988 nominating committee. I am a rotating Net Control station for the OCWA International Net on 14,347 kHz. Other than QCWA, I work DX, attend Winston Cup auto races and collect historic American flags which fly daily at 50 feet.

If re-elected, I pledge to continue communications with OCWA members via letters, Net check-in on regional nets and personal attendance at Chapter meetings and hamfests. OCWA is my only agenda and I will strive to keep it as the premier amateur radio organization in the world.
