Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather

Valentine V. Seidle of Doylestown, formerly of Plumsteadville, died on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007. He was 88.

He was the beloved husband of Jean Humes Seidle. They were married 60 years.

Born in Philadelphia, Valentine was the son of the late William and Margaret Mumbauer Seidle.

Valentine served his country in the U.S. Navy Air Force from 1941 to 1945.

He was a science teacher at Central Bucks West High School for 34 years.

He enjoyed traveling, golfing, bowling, fishing, and amateur radio. He also enjoyed many church and retirement center activities and was a past member of the Plumstead Lions Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Craig Seidle (Judy) of Plumsteadville; his daughter-in-law, Mary Scheets (Gary) of Furlong; grandchildren Scott Seidle (Alison), Shawn Seidle (Jessica), Mark Scheets, Eric Seidle, Nate Seidle, and Hannah Seidle, and great-grandchildren Chloe and Kya. Valentine was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Seidle.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. Interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Seidle's name to the Wesley Enhanced Living at Heritage Towers Chapel Fund, c/o Chaplain Mike Campbell, 200 Veterans Lane, Doylestown, PA 18901.
