Former Minoa resident John C. Kendall, 82, died Thursday at his home in Bradenton, Fla.

A native of Buffalo, Mr. Kendall resided most of his life in Minoa before moving to Bradenton a few years ago. He was owner and operator of a television sales and service business in Minoa for many years and previously had been a brakeman and conductor with the former New York Central Railroad.

Mr. Kendall was a ham radio operator since 1928, using the operator code name of "Apples." He was a past president of the Lark Radio Club in Syracuse . Mr. Kendall had served in the Naval Reserve.

Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy F. Styan of Florida; two daughters, Sally Brown of Syracuse and Jane K. Peterson of Daytona Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be in the spring. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.

There will be no calling hours.
