W1VPF - Gladys V. Chase

Gladys V. Chase, W1VPF, is seeking election to the Board of Directors.

After being married to WlEES for six years, she decided it was time to join him in his hobby. Licensed in 1952 as WlVPF, she became a charter member of WRONE, which she has continued to enjoy throughtout the years.

When she became eligible for QCWA, she became a charter member of the Chapter 149 and was its first Activities Manager. Last year she joined, again as a charter member, Pioneer Chapter 183.

Presently, she is a life member of QCWA. She belongs to ARRL and is the Treasurer and co-ordinator of the Sunshine Fund of the Yankee Chapter 112. She feels sure that she met many QCWAers when she was the co-chairman of the National Convention that was held in Windsor Locks in 1985.

Besides enjoying radio groups, she has also been active in other organizations, such as the Hartford Industrial Management Club. In 1981, she was elected the first woman president in the Club's 40 year history, an experience that she deemed quite an honor.
