WALTER S. ROGERS, W1DFS, USNR (Ret.), is an engineer in the Missile Division of Ratheon Mfg. Co., Melrose, Mass. Walt made his first two-way wireless contact in 1910 and still has some of his original gear. He was with 3DX and 3XM when first ham Transatlantic signals were heard. Went from RM/3C, 1932 to CMDR, WWII, 1945, and saw duty in both Atlantic and Pacific in communications. Operates CW and spends spare time in designing, building and writing. Resides at Melrose.
