Bernard L. Felton of Storrs, CT, died on October 30, 2010, as a result of an automobile accident.

Born in Longmeadow, MA on July 14, 1915, Mr. Felton retired in 1979 as Assistant Director of the Travelers Insurance Company. For 17 years he served the Connecticut Hospital Association as its accounting and fiscal consultant during which time he was a lecturer on the faculty of Yale University School of Hospital Administration. His involvement as cost project director concerning the first state side progressive patient care hospital under a United States Department of Health, Education and Welfare research grant gave cause for him to enter hospital administration at the Manchester Memorial Hospital and from there to the Medicare CT and the CT Association of Hospital Accountants.

He was a past Master and 50-year Mason of Pythagoras Lodge in Old Lyme, a 32nd degree Mason and member of several related organizations.

Bernie was predeceased by his wife Margaret T. Felton and is survived by his daughter Pamela Garner and husband Ron of Deep River, CT; sons William R. Barber and wife Hazel of Tolland, CT ; Richard L. Barber and wife Kathy of Rockingham, NC; eight grandchildren and great grandchildren; and lastly his faithful companion, Mary Vermette of Storrs, CT.

No calling hours or service will be held as was Mr. Felton's wish. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
