Kenneth Neal Keyte, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Kenneth was born to Benjamin and Ethel Ashby Keyte, November 20, 1918, in Des Moines, Iowa. He won the County interschool public speaking contest sponsored by Drake University in 1934 four years in a row. He attended Iowa State College (now Iowa State University) in Ames, Iowa. He was affiliated with TKE (TUA Katka Epsilon Fraternity). He later graduated from University of Maryland in 1965.

Kenneth entered the military in 1940, and retired as a USAF Colonel in 1971. He spent 10 years at the Pentagon in Communications. He served in 3 wars: WWII, Korean, Vietnam. Over 900 men served under his command.

In 1942, he married Ada Lee Morris from Decatur, Texas. They have been married for 66 years. Kenneth and Ada raised six children (Hilary, David, Amy, Benjamin, Judith, and Kimberly), two grandchildren (Jennifer and Judy Barton).

He is survived by his wife Ada Lee Keyte, three children Hilary, Benjamin, and Kimberly Keyte; five grand children: Jennifer Barton Jones, Judith Barton Cambre, Aubrey Steele DiSantiago, Bryan McTaggart, and Christoper McTaggart; great-grandchildren: Dylan Cambre, Tyler Jones, Hunter Jones and Aubrey DiSantiago's three children Madison, Dorian, and Anna Lisa.

He was a Member of Highland Park Baptist Church for over forty years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Al Kaly Shrine Temple in Pueblo, CO.

He is truly loved and will be missed very much.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 2 between 2 and 4 pm at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 N Cascade Ave. His Memorial service will follow on Sunday, February 3, at 2:00 pm, at the Highland Park Baptist Church on N Circle Drive. Burial will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 4, with full Military honors at the Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
