With sadness we announce the passing of Anthony Mountjoy, beloved husband of Lillian Mountjoy, at the age of 91 years. Along with his wife Lillian, Anthony will be lovingly remembered by his children: Yvonne Cole of Seattle, WA, and Keith Mountjoy, Paul Mountjoy, both of Calgary; his daughters-in-law Laurence Mountjoy of Calgary and Pamela Mountjoy of Victoria, BC; his seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Anthony, known as Tony to his family, friends and colleagues, was born and raised in Calgary where he remained and spent his life, married his wife Lillian and raised his family of four. As a young man, Tony became interested in Amateur (Ham) Radio, his primary hobby, interest and passion and until recent years was heavily involved with Ham radio activities, volunteering many communications hours at sport events such as the Cookie Race, Jasper Banff Relay, Kananaskis 100 Relay and others. He nor his radio call letters VE6MX will not be forgotten by the Ham radio community.
Tony's career spanned from drafting for Denton Spencer to retiring as Office Manager for Dekalb Petroleum. However, he always found time for his family and other hobbies/passions. Family holidays were spent exploring the parks of Alberta and BC, camping, hiking and fishing and cross-country skiing in the winter season. Golfing was his second passion which he pursued vigorously in his retirement years and enjoyed playing around with his family (children and grandchildren) whenever he could.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made in Anthony's name to a charity of choice.
