SARC Comments -

It is with a heavy heart that this message concerns the passing of our fellow Scarborough Amateur Radio Club member Gordon Hogarth VE3CNA.

Gordon was the consummate amateur radio operator. His jovial nature, calm demeanor and helpful nature will be greatly missed. Gordon served the club in so many ways it is difficult to mention them all in this brief notice. He served many terms as club president and kept the club in good standing through very challenging times.

I often consulted with Gordon on many topics concerning the club. His advice, assistance, knowledge and support were invaluable to me during our off line discussions.

Gordon's knowledge of the club history is unmatched. He organized the club archives in meticulous order. He was also in the process digitizing these documents for preservation on our SARC website.

Gordon was always a pleasure to work on the air and his skills as an excellent amateur radio operator were always present.

Here is an excerpt from the obituary published in the Toronto Star.
