GREEN, Robert T. (Bob) age 89, of Clayton, OH died Wednesday, November 2, after a short illness. He was the son of the late Harry A. Sr. and Leonora Traxler Green. Bob graduated from Fairview High School with the class of 1942, attended Miami University in Oxford, OH and served in the South Pacific with the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Mr.

Green is survived by 2 daughters, Nancy and her husband Thomas Poettinger, Linda Green and her husband Kerry Berkey; granddaughter Amy Poettinger (Rudolph) Maceyko; great-granddaughter Heather Maceyko; great-grandson Todd Maceyko; 3 nieces, Nancy (Terry) Turner, Dorothy Green and Judith (George) Grampp. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn (Kayo) in 2008; brother and sister-in-law Harry and Faye Green; and nephew Steven Green.

Following completion of his military service Bob and his brother Harry Jr. joined their father in establishing the Green Steel Company to engage in processing and sales of sheet and coiled carbon steel. Bob, K8JXE, was an Amateur Radio operator for over 50 years and a long time member of the American Radio Relay League and the Dayton Amateur Radio Association. Bob used his radio capabilities to assist local area communities with activities such as the Dayton Air Show, the Christmas Parade and many other not for profit or charity fund drives. He also aided in the establishment of the Weather Amateur Radio Net (WARN) to help The National Weather Service during severe weather by forwarding weather conditions to the local and area weather offices in advance of storms.
