First Call: K8IIU in 1957

Age 83, of Brecksville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 25, 2021 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Kunz) for 54 years, loving father of Steven, David (Michelle), and Leanne Shott; dearest brother of Helene Novak (Richard), Albert Shott (Barbara, deceased), James Shott (Jean), and the late Mary Joan Adkins (Peter); uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a cousin to numerous. Jack was a graduate of Parma High School ('55) and received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Case Institute of Technology (now CWRU) in 1960. He worked for the state of Ohio and National Engineering for over 40 years building roads and bridges working his way up to Vice President. Jack was a skilled builder at home as well, building his own cabin used for many family gatherings. He had numerous hobbies including woodworking, ham radio, photography, and gardening. He enjoyed traveling and he was proud to say he'd been to all 50 states. Jack loved riding on trains, even volunteering as a trainman on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, boating, and walking in the park. A lifelong Clevelander, Jack enjoyed both the zoo and supporting his beloved Indians.

Friends will be received at NOSEK-McCREERY FUNERAL HOME, 8150 BRECKSVILLE RD., BRECKSVILLE, OH 44141 on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 2-6 pm. Prayers at the funeral home 9:30 am Monday, May 3, 2021 followed by Jack's Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
