He served in the U.S. Navy for four years after Pearl Harbor as a second class radar man. James retired from TAFB in 1983 as an electronic engineer.

For 50 years after retirement, James was an amateur radio operator in the OKC area during disasters such as the Murrah Building bombing and the 1999 tornado. Our special thanks to Frontier Hospice for their care during the last months of his illness. James is survived by his wife, Mildred; one son, Dale Jones; one daughter, Beverly Jasuta; two brothers, Alfred and David Arnold; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and nephews, Larry and Roger Grant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven; and several siblings. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Hope Harbor Children's Home &Ministry, 15025 E. 380 Rd., Claremore, OK 74018. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at the Southwest Church of Christ.
