Frederick Clayton Basye, 91, born August 16, 1925 in Topeka, Kansas, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 at his home in Terrell surrounded by his family.

Frederick served 4 years in the Navy, where he served on the USS ARD 26. He retired from the USAF after 17 years of service. He served on many aircraft as an Airborne Radio Operator. He was a Ham Radio Operator (K5HOJ) for 70 years. He taught morse code to missionaries and their families at Wycliff College for many years. He retired from TI after twenty one years of dedicated service.

Frederick was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Miranda Reynolds, and Elmer LeRoy Basye, and first wife Frances.

Frederick is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Esta Basye, sister; Vera Frances, brother; Harold, step -sons; Stephen, Michael and Christopher, daughters; Vera Lynn and Rebecca Michelle and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Patriot PAWS, 254 Ranch Trail, Rockwall, TX 75032.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 10:15 a.m., at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at Poetry United Methodist Church, 18734 FM Road 986, Terrell, Texas.
