K4DBS - Douglas A. 'Doug' Benner
First Call: WB4YGB issued in 1972       Other Call(s): WD4CLX

I first received my amateur radio license in 1970. I let it expire in the 1980s. After many years of busy life and raising a lively family of six children, my wife and I are retired and enjoying our grandchildren. After a revival of interest in ham radio I studied and passed my exams in the Spring of 2015 in order to be relicensed. I am enthused and excited with being back into amateur radio again. My equipment at this time is a Kenwood TS590S, Signalink USB Sound Card, an MFJ 989C Tuner feeding an off-center fed Maxcon inverted v about 35 feet at the center. I enjoy working digital, cw, and ssb. You will mostly find me on 40 meters.

As of May 1, 2017, we moved to Guatemala, Central America. We have visited here many times through the years. We love the country and the people. We have built a retirement cottage so we can spend time here as well as in the US. My call in Guatemala is K4DBS/TG9 and the Maiden Head Grid Square is EK44xu. 73s to all.

I have now received my Guatemala callsign, TG9DBS.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE IS NO MAIL SERVICE IN GUATEMALA! I USE EQSL OR TO RECEIVE A PAPER QSL CARD, PLEASE EMAIL ME, AND I CAN MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE A CARD SENT VIA MY USA ADDRESS AT K4DBS.
