QCWA Bulletin 2020-001 - Past QCWA Director & Vice President Len Nathanson, W8RC - Silent Key
It is with sadness we report the passing of QCWA Life Member # 8838, Len Nathanson, W8RC of Farmington Hills, MI on June 19, 2019 at the age of 89.
Nathanson served on the QCWA Board of Directors from 2000 to 2006 and as Vice President from 2006 to 2008.
Licensed in 1948 as W8DQL, Nathanson received an electrical engineer degree, BSEE 1957, JD Juris Doctor 1961, He served in US Army 1952-54 and was operator at WAR/K4USA. After separating from the service he attended Purdue University, earning a bachelor's degree in physics.
Nathanson was also Past Director ARRL Great Lakes Division and Past First Vice President ARRL.
An A1-op, WAZ, CP 30, RCC, ROWH, OTC and a practicing Lawyer, Farmington Hills, founder and member Volunteer Counsel, founder of Legal Preemption Task Force (father of PRB1).
Nathanson was active on 160 meters to 70 cm. His wife was K8NFP (Silent Key) and son is Keith, WD8DUG.
