Held Novice license at age 13and never up graded in the first year. Discovered girls, got married and started a family. Relicenced in May of 1979 as WD0CFH and up graded to Tech in 1980 and then to General class at 42 a year later. Mostly active using CW/QRP and occasionally PSK-31. In December 2012 starting chasing the birds using an Arrow satellite antenna with handheld FT-60 for FM satellite QSOs. My secondary hobby is flying RC model airplanes which I have been doing since RC was available for them. Built my first receiver (had to if you wanted one) for my first airplanes.

During my first years as a General I built almost all of my equipment (HF and UHF) from Heath Kits. Still have them and they are all opperational. They are in storage now and I use my FT-817 and the all mighty "Rock Mites". I'll never be fast at CW but I really enjoy it.
