John "Jack" Connors born and raised in Pittson, Pa.

Moved to Binghamton, NY in 1959, employed by Link Aviation. Avid HAM since 1963. Served as ARES Emergency Coordinator and Radio Officer for RACES, Broome County, NY for twenty years. Key participant in establishing SKYWARN in the Broome County area. In 1998 received Special Service Award from NOAA for twenty years of service to that agency.

Member of the Binghamton Amateur Radio Association, Inc. (BARA) having served as Vice President 2003; President 2000 and 2001; Director 1997 thru 2000 and again 2004 and on. Treasurer 1974 thru 1983; designed club logo. Referred to as the "Ground Hog Hunter."

Mentor to the next generation of HAMS and continuing as emergency communicator.

Married the right girl from Minooka, Pa. The proud father of four great kids (two are hams KE4LIH and N2KIW) and eight grand children.

Associated Applied Science Degree in Electrical Technology from Penn State, Wilkes Barre, Pa campus in 1958. Forty year employee of General Electric, Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin. Entire career served at US Air Force 59 Plant in Johnson City, NY. Started as test equipment technician on December 7, 1959, held various technical and management positions, and retired from the Facilities Manager position on December 31, 1999.
