Arnold W. Sayre, W8WVM, QCWA Life Member #13820, loves to homebrew vintage gear. This is his complete 1930s station, with basic circuits from the 1930 edition of ARRL's How to Become a Radio Amateur. The breadboard transmitter sports a genuine RCA Radiotron UX-201-A and has been modified to include crystal control. The receiver is built into a cherry wood cabinet and is a two-tube, regenerative detector with one stage of audio. Dial assembly is by Pilot Mfg., binding posts are from EBY, and the tube sockets are ICA.
