Lionel M. 'Mac' Gray
QCWA # 37283
Thanks for visiting my bio page. My name is Mac Gray, I live in Seebert, Pocahontas County, West Virginia, on the Greenbrier River at 2070' above sea level. I was first licensed in 1978 as KA8BXM.
I enjoy working DX (SSB, CW,) and rag chewing. I also work the digital modes. I have two stations at my home. In the loft of my cabin I run an Icom IC-7600 with Heil PR-781 mic, LDG AT1000ProII tuner and an Acom 1000 amp. The second station located in my living room, next to my wood stove (and recliner) is an Icom IC-7300 with Heil iCM mic, LDG AT-600ProII and an Ameritron ALS-600 amp. Switching between the two stations via an Alpha Delta switch.
The antenna system consists of a NA4RR Hexbeam for 6, 10, 12, 15 and 20 meters. A homebrew 3 element yagi on a 20' boom for 17 meters. Wire antennas include a 75 meter dipole, 80 meter inverted L and a 160 meter full wave loop. The antennas terminate in an Ameritron RCS-8V remote switch located in my carport 20 feet from the tower. A single coax runs to the loft above.
Hope you enjoy the hobby as much as I do. If we have not worked I look forward to adding you to my log.
