WØHP - Frederick 'Fred' Deziel
Dorothy Ann and Fred

Of Bloomington, MN Fred, age 90, passed after a brief illness on July 9, 2012. Dorothy Ann, age 89, passed peacefully on Aug. 28, 2012. She was born in Stillwater, MN on Sept. 26, 1922 to Otis T. and Pearl Johnson. Dorothy Ann met Fred while in High School, and they wed just four days before Pearl Harbor, in St. Louis, MO, where Fred was stationed with the Coast Guard.

They celebrated 70 years of marriage on Dec 3, 2011. As a Chief Petty Officer, Fred established and operated radio stations in the Aleutian Islands in support of Naval and Army Air operations.

After the war, they returned to Minnesota, where Fred graduated from the U of M with a BSEE, thanks to the GI Bill. He spent his career as a design engineer with Honeywell, while Dorothy Ann maintained the home front, raising four kids and working in the pathology lab at HCMC.

In retirement they enjoyed regular travel to Hawaii, Arizona, and other destinations.

The family is very grateful to the wonderful and caring staff at Castle Ridge Care Center, where Dorothy resided for the past nine years. Fred spent nearly every day there, by her side.

Their simple love and unwavering devotion to each other is a gift that their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will cherish forever, and they all know that they were loved and celebrated by Dorothy Ann and Fred.
