MARSH, F. William "Bill" Peacefully, Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the age of 93 in Ottawa. Husband of the late Geraldine "Gerry" (nee Evans). Brother of Mary Dudgeon, the late Peg Edgerton, and the late Rod Marsh. Son of the late James and Mary Marsh. Retired Engineer (University of Toronto) at Energy, Mines and Resources Canada, and long-time member and volunteer of the YMCA-YWCA. As per Bill's wishes there will be no service held. Interment of Cremated Remains will be held at a later date in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. In Memoriam, donations to the YMCA-YWCA of Ottawa appreciated.

I had a call from Bill Marsh's caregiver to inform me that Bill (Swampy) passed away peacefully yesterday morning at 8;30a.m.

I believe he was in his 94th year and had become very weak after returning from hospital three weeks ago.

Arrangements other than cremation are uncertain at this point as the estate is in the hands of a trustee but Bill carefully detailed details of burial in Bridgewater N.S. beside his wife Gerry.

Bill was a life member of QCWA , an ardent cw man in both landline and international codes and had an infectious sense of humour.

In the past year his mind was very alert and memory exceptional. His caregiver read daily to him as his sight was 90% gone due to Gluacoma. Reading material consisted of all the Greek classics( Homer, Iliad and Odyssey) among many others. His caregiver of the past three years commented that she had received a real education.

Having known Swampy for over 50 years, I know he will be missed by many besides myself.
