Mary Margaret 'Jean' Card (nee Truscott) B.A. (Hon.), (Biology/Chemistry), Queen's, Arts '34 - At the Seniors' Health Centre, in Toronto, on Monday, January 4, 1999. Born May 30, 1913, in Kingston, Ontario, Jean was in her 86th year. Formerly of Hamilton, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. John Robert J. Card. Jean was the loving mother of Dr. Robert Card and his wife Helen of Saskatoon, and the loving mother of Mary Card of Toronto. She was the very special grandmother of Dr. Sharon Card and her husband Scott Irwin, Michael Card and Geoffrey Card, all of Saskatoon. She was the dear sister of Helen and her husband Bill McKinnon of Sault Ste. Marie, and dear sister-in-law of Bob and Janet Hart of Waterloo. She was predeceased by her sister Marion Hart of Toronto. She will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jean was a member of the Westminster Chapter, Eastern Star, and the Scottish Rite Club of Hamilton. Jean, VE3CKH, was a member of the Hamilton Amateur Radio Club and the Quarter Century Wireless Association.

She will be missed by her family and friends and remembered fondly for her quick mind, her sense of humour, her love of and talent for completing cryptic crossword puzzles, and her strength of character. We've all benefitted from her correction of our grammar at one time of another!

The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (South of Eglinton Avenue East) from 7-9 p.m. On Friday, January 8th and from 12-2 p.m. On Saturday, January 9th. The Funeral Service will be complete and will commence in the Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Cremation to follow.
