WILLIAM HARPER "Bill" BARRIE
(Veteran WW II - R.C.A.F.)
Peacefully, with his family at his side on Monday, March 13, 2017. Bill Barrie of Almonte, age 98 years.
Dearly loved husband of the late Betty Buchanan and father of Diana (Doug Cordingley), William (Ingrid Draayer), and Donald (Rose Sirois). Brother of Jim, George, and David. Predeceased by 3 sisters, Margaret Down, Marion Aitkin, and Eleanor Henderson. Also survived by 4 grandchildren, Lindsey, Nicole, Caitlin, and Brodie (Julie) and 1 great-granddaughter, Ainsley. Predeceased by his grandson, Jesse.
Friends are invited to join Bill's family at a Celebration of his life in the Almonte Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 1 at 2 PM. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.

I knew Bill through amateur radio and Quarter Century Wireless Association.
Bill will be remembered by all who knew him as a true gentleman.
In the last two years after he could no longer drive we enjoyed his NATO-standard (double-double) coffee together and his reminiscences of his WWII experiences and his time on the prototype of the DEW Line in northern Yukon.
Bill will be missed by the amateur radio community.
