Greetings from northwestern Massachusetts, near the borders of New York and Vermont and the station of NI1Victor.

I have been an Amateur Extra since 1986 and primarily listen to CW on 80 meters.

I have always been interested in ARES and look to continue my education and become more involved in emergency communications, as time now permits. My current education consists of:

I was employed as a police officer/EMT-B (active) with 28 years service, having retired in January 2015. My police department awards include Officer of the Year (2010), Chief's Award for Distinguished Service (2006), Lifesaving Medals (3), Honorable Service Medal (1), Letters of Commendation (3). I have also been selected Police Officer of the Year (2009) and received four (4) Save Awards from EMS of BerkshireCounty (MA) and the Silver Medal of Valor from the Civil Air Patrol (1993) "for conspicuous heroic action at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty".I am a deisel locomotive engineer for the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum and I also serve on the North Adams (MA) Historical Society Board of Directors and the North Adams Masonic Association that oversees the care of the Houghton Mansion on Church Street.
