Hello From Texas:
My QTH is Bowie, Texas, 75 miles (120km) NW of Ft. Worth. Elevation at QTH is 1300 ft. above sea level. I go by my middle name "Alan". Have been a ham since 1980, however I've been off the air for the past 13 years and just now back in operation (July 2012). I'm running a Flex 6500 and a Flex 5000A Transceiver with a Heil PR781 Mic, driving a Tokyo Hy-Power HL-1.5FKX or Ameritron ALS-600 Solid State Amplifier and a Tokyo Hy-Power HC1.5 Antenna Tuner into a Cushcraft A3 Tribander Yagi w/40m add on at 45 feet (13.7 meters). Other equipment in the shack; Kenwood TS-440S and Yaesu VHF/UHF FT-736R. I've spent from May 2010 to May 2012 building my ham shack, getting the tower up and the equipment back into operation. I feel like I'm starting all over again. Been back on the air since July 2012.
OTHER ANTENNAS:
160 thru 10 M Home brew 43 ft. vertical.
75 M, Home brew inverted V (9-25-2012). Loads well and receives well.
40 M Home brew Inverted V
17 M, Home brew 2 element Yagi. New antenna installed 1-4-2013. Works so much better than the Inverted V. However the inverted V has worked stations all over the world.
