First licensed as a Novice in 1983, Extra class since 1987. I operate phone, CW, and several digital modes. Originally from Atlanta, GA, I've lived in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

I was an elected official of the ARRL from 1986 to January, 2016. I'm a member of the New River Valley ARC and the Potomac Valley RC.

My main operating interests are DXing and contesting. Awards earned include DXCC on 8 bands, DXCC Challenge, 5BDXCC, Worked All Europe Class 1 (CW), WAZ, VUCC (6 meters, FN20 and EM97), 5BWAC, Triple Play, and WAS. My original WAS was earned as a new ham in Pennsylvania, and I earned it over again after moving to Virginia. Still working on 5-Band WAS from Virginia and getting very close.

On the service side, I.m a Volunteer Examiner and have been active in club leadership. I'm one of the Skywarn ops for WX4RNK at the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Blacksburg, VA. My OM is N3AO. Previous callsigns held: KA3KPW, KC3LM, WT3P. My QSL is sure via direct, bureau, or Logbook of the World. No e-qsl. 73 and have fun on the ham bands!
