KQ4P - Norman E. Jewelers

I was first licensed as KN3LYW in Washington, DC in 1959. In 1960 I became K3LYW and operated from Washington, DC and Bethesda, Maryland till I went into the US Navy. I operated maratime mobile in 1966 - 1968 from the USS Sellers DDG11 homeported in Charleston, SC. In 1968-1969 I operated aeronautical mobile from all over the world in a Navy P3 Orion sub hunter. In 1970 after leaving the Navy I started and own United States Tower Services one of the larger tower erection companies in the US and US Antenna Products a commercial HF antenna manufacturer. From 1970 - 1989 I operated from Wheaton, Maryland, Rockville, Maryland, Gaithersburg/Laytonsville, Maryland. In 1990 I moved to Frederick, Maryland and lived and operated from there until 2004 when I moved to South Florida. I changed my call from K3LYW to W3NRS in 1996 because being the owner of Norm's Rotor Service I thought it would be cool to have NRS as my call. I sold Norm's Rotor Service in 2003. In 2004 I moved to West Palm Beach, FL and changed my call again to W4NRS. I am active on 160-6 CW & SSB and 2 meters FM.

Current station is an Icom 756 Pro III, Icom PW1, Inverted Vee's for 80 &160, Mosley Pro 67C3 at 80' on commercial self supporting tower, and US Antenna Products LP1001CA for 3-30 MHz use.
