KC4QYX Jason M. Quynn Brighton, CO QCWA # 37723 Chapter 58

I come from a history of Ham radio operaters. My Great Grandfather W3EWW, Lloyd Sewell Quynn (Silent Key) and my Father K4PMW, Lloyd Michael Quynn (Silent Key). I was licensed when I was 12 in 1989 as a Novice. I quickly upgraded to Technician in 1989, General in 1991 and to Extra in 2002. I became a VE in Feburary 2017. My daughters were licensed in January 2017. KEØLPF, Michaela (14 yrs) and KE0LPE, Erica (13 yrs) and my wife KEØMGU, Paula in Feburary 2017.

I was born in Fairfax, VA and have lived in Colorado, Idaho, Virginia (again) and Colorado (again). I move to Colorado in 1994 and lived in Erie for 12 years. I moved to Brighton, CO in 2002 and have been here since. I started as an electrician when I was 16 working during the summers. I stayed in the trade after high school and love the job. I opened my own company in 2009 and service the Denver Metro area.

I love the hobby of ham radio and try to be as active as I can on 2 meters, 70 cm, 40 meters and 20 meters. I operate a Kenwood TS2000 with an MFJ Versa Turner V. I have a Cushcraft R7 vertical and a home made 40 meter dipole approximately 20 feet in the air. The shack is in the garage at the moment as that is where I spend much of my time.

I love to hunt, golf and most of all fish! I cant get enough of the outdoors. In the summer time we are camping almost every weekend. In the winter, hunting and work take most of my time.
