Gary F. Trentham was born May 26, 1947, in Independence, Missouri. In life, he was foremost a husband and a father. To provide for his family, Gary owned his own business in Independence, Fitzgerel Htg. & Air Conditioning, from 1976-1992 and was a member of Sheet Metal Workers local Union #2.
As call sign KCØFL he enjoyed his strongest passion as an amateur radio operator and belonged to the Independence FM Amateur Radio Club and a life member of the American Radio Relay League. He was a member of Duncan Road Baptist Church. He also served his country as a member of the U. S. Naval Air Reserve 1967-1973.
Gary passed away Thursday, January 3, 2008. He is survived by Linda C. Trentham, his beloved wife of 39 years who still resides in Independence; his son Christopher A. Trentham and his wife Kim of Kentwood, Mich. ; his daughter Shannon M. Spangler and husband Tony of Blue Springs; his son Corey F. Trentham of Mission, Kan. ; sister Donna L. Johnson and husband James of Lee's Summit; sister Janice V. Whitehouse of Lee's Summit; sister Martha Ann Smith and husband Allen of Independence; sister Mary Lee Holden and husband James of Greenwood; and two grandchildren, Jacob A. Spangler and Katelyn N. Spangler of Blue Springs.
A visitation for Gary will be held Monday, January 7, 2008, from 6-8 p. m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Kansas City, Missouri. A graveside service will be held at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at 2 p. m. with Pastor Larry Chapman officiating.
