Don Lowden

Don Lowden, age 94, became a SK on February 19, 2007. Born 1912 in Miamisburg, Ohio, Donald worked 32 years at the NCR Company from which he retired in 1974. He built his first crystal set at the age 10, and enjoyed a lifetime interest in radio and electronics During World War II he participated in the development of "The Bombe" a deciphering machine which enabled the US to break the enemy military codes. He spent the last few years in the Florida sunshine. He was member of various Amateur Radio Clubs including the Quarter Century Wireless Association, Capter 9.
