Bob Ludtke, KN9MWM operated his station in South Milwaukee, WI, where this photo was taken on October 24, 1958. On the table, from left to right, are: Hallicrafters speaker; Barker & Williamson 5100 transmitter -- 180 watts input CW, 145 watts AM phone (the later 5100-B offered a matching SSB exciter); and Hallicrafters SX-100 receiver. An EF Johnson Matchbox sits on the transmitter, and atop the receiver is a CDR rotator, which controlled Bob's 10 and 15meter, 2el cubical quad, up 40 feet. His microphone is a Turner model.
