Chapter 215

HI!

I was first licensed in 1986 as KA3PZF while on active duty (Navy) in Maryland. My interest in radio was started by my now Silent Key Uncle Leonard who passed away in 1996. I took his callsign in 2003 and am honored to have it. Now that I am middle-aged I admire Uncle Len even more as he was a wonderful husband to my late Aunt Lil, father of three, had both his own business and later a success machining career, homeowner and a cottage, boater, avid tinkerer of anything science-related (there's a neat family story about the antique X-Ray machine Uncle Len had in his garage!) and Advanced Class ham, Uncle Len, how did you find the time for all this? So, I enjoy operating the FM satellites, VHF/UHF nets and some HF. I enjoy operating portable and/or low power whenever possible. This summer I operated SO-50 Marine Mobile from my 20' boat on Lake Erie.

I am an active member of the Utica Shelby Emergency Communications Association as was my Uncle Len.

I am now on LoTW, hope to work you soon!
