Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Robert C. Smith, born in Kansas City, MO, passed away in El Paso, TX May 15, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman L. and Mary Ellen Smith, his brothers, Sherman P. and James P., and granddaughter, Lynn Ann Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Karin C. Smith, his children Thomas B. and Melodee A. Smith, granddaughters, Theresa B. and Samantha T. Smith, Malissa A. Anaya, Tiffany M. Braus, and great grandsons, Andres C. and Abel J. Anaya.

His military career entailed the US Army Air Corp, WWII, followed by 20 + years regular US Army including the Korean War [Korean Service Medal] and active duty during Vietnam. After retirement he served 10 years civil service, White Sands Missile Range Electronic Missile War-fair.

A 60 year member of Masonic Lodge No. 1111, 32nd degree Mason, member of Scottish Rite, past President of Texas State Motor Patrol Association, El Maida Shrine Motor Patrol, member of American Legion #407, and past Commander of DAV #187. K5VRF amateur radio operator and ARRL Life Member - Amateur Radio Relay League, WTRA - West Texas Repeater Association, QCWA - Quarter Century Wireless Association, MARIE - Mountaintop Amateur Remote Intertie El Paso, Member of W5ES - El Paso Amateur Radio Club and K5WPH . Sun City Amateur Radio Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to El Maida Shrine Temple. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm, Monday, May 21, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Services will begin at 9:30am, Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
