License as a Novice KN5CPD - too many years ago -9/22/1955. Obtained General Class one year later at FCC office in Dallas and obtained FCC First Class Radio Telephone around 1958.

Have operated LF, HF, VHF, and UHF. In 1958 (when sun spots were at highest) almost worked all states (WAS) on six meters one Sunday afternoon setting in a fire lookout tower about 100 feet high near Longview, TX. What fun! I believe the sun spot cycle will, again, be high during the 2010/2011 period. And Six meters should be fun again. After all of these years, ham radio is still part of my life.

Employment History: US. Army - 1960 to 1966 Microwave Communications Tech. After serving in the military, I obtained a position at TI - working in the R&D lab, measuring parameters of transistors. After that burnout, I took a position as a field engineer with Collins Radio. While as Collins Radio, obtained position as data manager to check documentation, and that helped me get into the field of technical writing - which lasted over 30 years. After obtaining MBA, I became interested in tax law, and I took and passed the Internal Revenue Service Enrollment Agent's exam. Thus, as an Enrolled Agent, I can (and have) helped individuals and corporations solve tax issues with the IRS. Right now, my interest is helping radio clubs become 501(c)(3) - non-profit status.

Present equipment: Kenwood TS-2000 and various antennas.
