Gene Raymond Krumnacher, aged 90, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018. Born Oct. 16, 1927 in Easton, PA to the late Jacob Eugene and Crystle Louise (Racely) Krumnacher. Graduated Lafayette College with a degree in Electrical Engineering (1951). WWII veteran of the US Army serving with the 4th Signal Battalion attached to the 7th Army. He retired from General Electric having enjoyed a 36-year career. During his tenure, he was recognized world-wide for his contributions to the control of large motors with semi-conductors. He was a longtime member of the GE Elfun Society. Gene was an Eagle Scout and served as Scoutmaster for troops in New York, New Jersey and Virginia. He also enjoyed sailing and piloting gliders. Upon moving to Loudon, Tennessee, he joined the Blairland Baptist Church and enjoyed being a member of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service of Loudon County and the Quarter Century Wireless Association.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Grace and his son, Mark. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Martin Gene (Debra) Krumnacher, Ten Mile, Paul Jacob Krumnacher, NC and Lori Ann (Rev. William) Hawkins, NC; 7 grandchildren, Melanie Schultz, Brittany Smith, both of Knoxville, Kristy Hamilton, Powell, Wendy Massingale, Cookeville, Abigail Hawkins, NYC, Leah Bressler, Durham, NC and Ezekiel Krumnacher, Greenville, NC; 9 great grandchildren.

Services honoring and remembering Gene Krumnacher will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, Jan. 27th, McGill-Karnes Chapel with Rev. Ron Fisher and Rev. William Hawkins officiating. Interment to follow in Cedar Fork Cemetery, 1780 Sweetwater Rd. Philadelphia, with military honors provided by the US Army and the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Loudon Co. Veterans Honor Guard, 2014 Merideth Lane, Madisonville, TN 37354. The family will receive friends 10:00 - 11:00 AM Saturday prior to the service at McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, 406 Wharf St. Loudon. www.mcgillkarnes.com
