Ramon A. Longdo-K2YJR, 79, of Leesburg, FL, passed away June 27, 2007. He was born in Fort Edward, NY, on June 14, 1928.
Ray was a veteran of the Korean War, an electrical engineer and had worked at General Electric as a cost analyst for over 30 years. He was one of the founding members of NAVAC, a post commander of the North Syracuse VFW and a member of the American Legion. He played taps for hundreds of deceased veterans over the years.
He was an honorary member of the Clay Sportsman and the South Shore rod and gun clubs and was an avid ham radio operator, known to many around the world as K2YJR.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Darleen Longdo, David and Heidi (Hutter) Ferguson, Jim and Leslie (Ferguson) Casey; one granddaughter; five grandsons; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Howlett Hill Road, Onondaga Hill.
