First licensed as W2WHB at end of 1947 at age 15. In 1948 was one of the operators of K2UN at UN Hq at Lake Success L.I. In 1949 got started in traffic handling. 50-54 was Treasurer of MIT Radio Society and operated W1MX from Cambridge. In Army in 1955 was MARS Director at Ft. Lewis Washington and was then stationed in Greenland for 5 months in 1956 and assigned the call KG1AX. Was paid to be a ham! Operated mostly 20 meter CW.

In 1960s was the Radio Officer for the Newark NJ RACES. In late 1970s was net manager for the NJ Traffic Net on 75 meters and was also the NNJ Section Traffic Manager for a couple of years. Active on 160 through 2 meters from home qth in Newark NJ and also second QTH in West Haven VT. Was President of Chapter 77, the NNJ Chapter of QCWA. Life member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association. Moved from Newark NJ to Reston Virginia in July 2002. Have resumed activity in traffic handling, casual dxing. and casual contesting. Active in the Vienna Wireless Society, the Vic Clark chapter of QCWA, and the Northern VA chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
