Larry E. Neal, 68, Independence, Mo., passed away July 18, 2007. Services will be held 2 p. m. Monday, July 23, 2007, at the Carson- Speaks Chapel; interment at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Larry was born Dec. 25, 1938 in Maryville, MO and grew up in Pickering, MO. He was an electrical lineman for the National Rural Electric Assoc., Independence Power & Light and retired from Unity Village in Jan., 2001. He was a member of the Hopkins Masonic Lodge. Larry was also involved in his hobby as a Ham Radio Operator. He was a member of several amateur radio clubs, the American Radio Relay League, was an emergency coordinator for the U.S. Air Force M.A.R.S., and had recently completed training classes conducted by FEMA. He also taught CPR classes for the Red Cross.
Larry loved to hunt and fish all of his life. Larry is survived by his wife of 36 years Sharon M. Neal, of the home; son Jim Neal and wife Melany, Independence, MO; daughters Linda Gillenwater, Maryville, MO; LeAnn Neal, Kimberling City, MO; Lesia Neal, Springfield, MO; grandchildren T. J. Fish, Amber Dredge, Cody Gillenwater, Regina Neal, D.J.
