The Michigan Chapter 10 Annual Summer Picnic will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at the Kenwood Park, North Blvd in Cadillac, MI., starting at 12OO noon. Members are requested to bring their own table service, drinks, (no alcoholic beverages allowed per City ordinances), and a passing dish to share with others. Please remember that there will be no meat provided at the picnic this year, so plan your passing dish accordingly. This is an excellent opportunity to bring family members and friends as they are always welcome. There will be no business meeting at this event. You may want to bring along your favorite lawn chair so you can kick back after the meal and enjoy visiting with all of your chapter friends. The Chapter 10 History Books will be on display for you to enjoy, so please make it a point to take a look at all of the great history from our 49 year history. If you have any questions or would like to make any type of a presentation, please contact any of the Chapter 10 officers so that we may plan time for your presentation. Details of this event will be announced on our Chapter 10 ssb net on Sunday morning at the beginning of the net. If you need directions to the Kenwood Park, simply click on the highlighted link shown within this article above to obtain those directions.

The Annual Meeting of Michigan Chapter 10 will be held on Saturday, May 02, 2009, at the Waterfront Restaurant, 2403 Sunnyside Dr in Cadillac, MI. This will be the 50th anniversary of Chapter 10 as well. Details of this event will appear at a later date and will be announced on our ssb net on Sunday morning and on this web page. You are invited to post any comments or suggestions to any of the Chapter 10 officers at their email addresses shown above.

Details of these and other chapter activities will be announced, well in advance, on our regular, weekly, ssb net, which is held on Sunday morning, on 3.903 Mhz., starting with a pre net at 7:30 AM, followed by the regular net at 8:00 AM. Visitors are always welcome to join our net. If you are a current QCWA member, but do not have a "home chapter", chapter 10 members would be honored to have you join our chapter and make us your "QCWA home". As your home chapter, all of your QCWA awards will be tracked for you and presented to you when they are due. Chapter 10 does not charge any annual dues. We use the "pass the hat" system to meet our financial needs and that method has sustained us very nicely over the past 47 years. We are the oldest active chapter in Michigan, founded in 1959, we have a current membership of 107 paid up members. Our chapter is very family oriented and we encourage family participation in all of our chapter functions. If you wish to join QCWA or Chapter 10, please contact our Secretary/Treasurer, Jim Bishop, W8JFB, via or telephone at: (906) 643-7103, or by mail at: W-1142 Pointe LaBarbe Road, St. Ignace, MI, 49781-9632. He will be happy to assist you with all of your QCWA needs.
