Chapter Activities

The Annual Meeting of Michigan Chapter 10 will be held on Saturday, May 01, 2010, at Burke's Waterfront Restaurant, 2403 Sunnyside Dr in Cadillac, MI. This is held in conjunction with the Wexaukee Amateur Radio Club's hamfest at the Junior High School, 500 Chestnut Street. We wish to thank WARC for providing Chapter 10 with a table free of charge. Please come and spend some time at the swap prior to going over to the restaurant for lunch and the annual meeting.

The Michigan Chapter 10 Annual Summer Picnic will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at the Kenwood Park, North Blvd in Cadillac, MI., starting at 1200 noon. Please bring a dish to pass, your own table service and beverage (no alcohol). This is an excellent opportunity to bring family members and friends as they are always welcome. The Chapter 10 History Books will be on display so be sure to take a look and the 50-year history of our chapter. If you have any questions or wish to make a presentation at the picnic, please contact any of the chapter officers so that we may plan time for your presentation. Details of these events will be provided, well in advance, on our weekly Sunday morning SSB net. This net meets each Sunday morning on 3.903 MHz at 8:00 AM local time. All are welcome to join this net as visitors are always welcome. If you are an At-Large QCWA member, why not consider making Chapter 10 your "home" chapter? As your home chapter, we will track all your QCWA awards for you and presented to you when they are due. Chapter 10 does not charge dues but, rather, use the "pass the hat" method of obtaining funds for the chapter to operate with, which has proved to be financially effective over the past 50 years. (Our Chapter will be 51 years old on April 13, 2010.) We are the oldest active chapter in Michigan and currently have a membership of 101 paid-up members. If you wish to join QCWA and/or Chapter 10, please contact Lowell Corbin, W8IQB for an application form via .
