It is with sadness to report news of John (Jack) Troster, W6ISQ, of
Athern, California, becoming a Silent Key on Saturday, January 11,
2014. He was 93.

Jack was first licensed in 1935 as W2ISQ at the early age of 14. He
joined QCWA in 1961, and for years wrote the monthly "QCWA" column in
WorldRadio.

Jack was a founding member of the Northern California DX Foundation
in 1972, and served as an NCDXF Board member for 26 years and
President from 1975 to 1986. Jack was named NCDXC's DXer of the Year,
and in 1988 he was inducted as the 27th member of the CQ DX Hall of Fame.

Troster was elected to the QCWA Board of Directors in 1992 and served
until 1998.

Jack was a Life Member of ARRL and QCWA.

He will be sorely missed by the amateur radio community.
