While I value tradition and history very much, I know we can't move forward if we are living in the past. I enjoy working with people, have good communications skills and enjoy public speaking. I am experienced in leading meetings and working with and on committees. It is essential to keep focused and moving forward. I have been appointed, elected or re-elected as the President of various groups and organizations nineteen times, the largest of these was the PHD ARA in Kansas City, Missouri with over 700 members spread across several states. I’m currently the President of Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, MN.

I’m a member of the Crow River Area ARC and a Certified Skywarn Spotter for McLeod County. I’m an ARRL Accredited Volunteer Examiner and a Public Information Officer for the Minnesota Section of the Dakota District. I operate CW, SSB and FM from 160 to 2 meters both fixed and mobile. I hold DXCC, 5BWAS, WAZ, RCC and many other operating awards. I’ve been licensed for 46 years and I’m one month and ten days older than QCWA.

I worked for AT&T for 31 Years, IBM for 5 years, and Hutchinson Telephone Company for 2 years and am currently a programmer/analysis for TEKSystems in Minneapolis. I retired from the New Jersey National Guard in 1988 after serving in the US Navy Reserve and US Army Reserve. Linda and I have been married for 38 years.

Some of the issues the QCWA Board needs to address are;
        1) Promote and support our Local Chapters, they are a vital part of QCWA.
        2) Improve the use of the Hotline Reflector to gather input from Local Chapters to foster ideas for all chapters.
        3) Encourage members to become active on Local Chapter nets by checking into adjacent states on HF.
            I’ve checked into Local Chapter 75 meter nets in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota and Michigan.
        4) Develop ways to recruit and retain new members
        5) Increase publicity for our QCWA Scholarship Fund.
        6) Analyze our financial situation and finds ways to make us fiscally stronger.
        7) Work with the Webmaster, Board Members and Chapter Officers to keep our website information current.
        8) Maintain the CW nets associated with QCWA and possibly start a slow speed net.

I have the support of four living Past Presidents, several current and past Board members, numerous local chapter officers and many fine members.

I was recently presented a 2007 QCWA Distinguished Service Award. The award was established September 12, 1975 and is the oldest award QCWA offers. It's my honor to join this distinguished list of award receiptants.

When it comes time to vote for the next President of QCWA, I am the Best Ham for job.

73,
Bob Roske, NØUF
